Rule 10
Civil Servant Records

(1) Personal details and other records of civil servants will be kept in the civil library (1a) According to sub-rule (1), for the purpose of updating the personal details and other records of the civil servants, the ministries, secretariats, departments, offices, constitutional organs and bodies of the Government of Nepal and the related civil servants shall provide the necessary details to the civil library from time to time. 2) Ministries operating service groups and the departments and offices under them should also keep the records of civil servants under them updated so as to be correct with the records of the civil library.
(3) The civil library shall inspect according to the requirements whether the ministries and the departments and offices under the service, the group operating, and the personal details and records of the civil servants have been updated so as to be correct with the records of the civil library according to sub-rule (2). If any error is found during such inspection, the civil library will inform the relevant ministry, department or office to correct such error. It will be the duty of the concerned department or office to correct the errors reported in this way. The Ministry of General Administration will take departmental action against the employees who do not correct the errors reported by the civil library within three months.
(4) The records of the civil servants received from the ministries, secretariats, departments, offices and constitutional organs and bodies of the Government of Nepal shall be updated by the civil library. The Ministry of General Administration will inspect from time to time whether the records received in this way have been updated by the civil library. If errors are found during such inspection, the Ministry of General Administration will inform the Civil Library to correct such errors within three months. If the errors are not rectified within the period of notification, the Ministry of General Administration will take departmental action against the head of the civil library.
